Six months young and plenty of new things in her world: new favorite poses (the feet grab, the hands behind her head), a Radio Flyer wagon, swimming and swimsuits, tug of war with Diego, and that's just what we have pictures of.

Alex finds her feet
For the record, Alex discovered these crazy things called "her feet" at least three weeks ago, long before her 6-month birthday. Unfortunately, I spent the next three weeks trying to figure out how to rotate the video clockwise, and let's just say Alex was more successful in locating her lower phalanges than I was in doctoring the video format. Either way, you get the point. Also notice that she managed to turn on the water at the same time. Very impressive feet/feat.

Graduations, weddings, etc
It's been another busy couple of weeks for Team Alex Rose. A long road trip (including her first ever true blow-out, not pictured for obvious reasons) to Santa Barbara for Uncle Nick's graduation; meeting Judy and Ron for the first time, seeing Great Uncle Norm (who as usual is behind the camera, not pictured), sitting through a long commencement ceremony with nothing but a boring speech and a toy giraffe to keep her entertained; then an even longer road trip home. The next night, she attended a Franklin family wedding for the first time, meeting new and old cousins and accomplishing yet another first -- spitting up directly into a half-full beer (not her fault).

Alex and Henry Part Deux
It may not become a youtube sensation like the talking twin babies, but the second meeting of these two was still entertaining.

Five month old big girl stuff
Food
Over the last few weeks, Alex has begun reaching for any eating/drinking utensil we happen to be holding (see the wine glass pic in a previous post). We put two and two together, and decided it was time to give people-food a try. For those keeping score at home, Alexandra Rose Brokaw's first solid food was pumpkin -- fitting because of Paige and Blair Franklin's obsession with Halloween, but in reality it just happened to be the only food suitable for babies in our pantry. Since then she's gummed some watermelon, carrot, and ingested and promptly spit out some rice cereal, whatever that is.
