Sorry!

It's been more than three weeks since we last updated the blog. Since then, Alex has added 3 or 4 teeth to her arsenal, she's on the verge of crawling and is always begging to be helped onto her feet for an assisted walk around the house, and both her mom and dad turned one year older. Aside from that, you haven't missed much. Here are a bunch of photos to make up for our prolonged absence.

Alex's social calendar has been jam packed throughout August, with a couple of weddings and friends visiting from as far away as New York, Atlanta, Texas and Japan. She even had her second visit of the month with Henry, which went almost exactly as the last one.

During their most recent meeting, Alex Brokaw did her best to convey to Henry Wonnacott (who despite being four months her junior weighs as much as or more than Alex) that she is still the boss. Using some of her newly-learned moves (including the ability to roll back and forth with little effort), along with some of her tried-and-true martial arts abilities (such as the hand-in-mouth karate chop and the open-fisted face grab), Alex got the point across. As always, Henry was a good sport throughout the ordeal.

A Big July

July 2011 was a month to remember for Alex (or maybe not). She cut her first couple of teeth, the two on the bottom front. She's added all sorts of sounds to her repertoire, and loves to show them off, loudly. She'll grab, or try to grab, anything within an arm's reach. In addition to the Franklin family weekend in Pleasanton, we took her up to Truckee for the first time.
